How do I book?
You can book online, over email or by telephone.
Where can I find you?
We are located only 5 minutes from Melbourne’s International Airport Terminal! You can find us at: Woodlands Historic Park, Somerton Rd (Park Access Road), Greenvale Victoria 3059
Do I have to be able to ride a horse already?
No. We have a variety of riding booking options available to suit the competency of each rider. Part of our booking process asks some basic questions about each participant so that we can understand and assess your individual competency. A mini competency lesson will be carried out at the beginning of each riding tour, to ensure the safety of both horse and rider. However, if you have booked a horse riding tour, it is a basic requirement prior to going out on trail that you are able to confidently and safely communicate basic commands to your horse such as; asking them to stop, go, turn left and right.
What should I wear?
You are required to wear:
A helmet. We provide this as a compulsory safety measure for each rider
Flat and enclosed shoes/boots
Long pants, jeans or trousers
Sunscreen for the warmer months
Warm clothing in winter months
We provide each rider with quality Drizabone raincoats, as required.
Why do I need to arrive 30 minutes before our scheduled departure time?
Both horse and rider safety is our number one priority. We use this time to fit you with safety accredited helmets, assess your competency to ride safely, discuss what to expect on the ride and provide you with any additional horse and rider tips to help you enjoy your horse riding experience safely.
Where do I park?
Vehicle parking is provided in Woodlands Historic Park. The car park is found to the right just inside the gates to the park access road, off Somerton Road. You are then required to make your way across to the right side of the park where the horses are being prepared for your horse riding experience.
Are children allowed to participate in any of the Woodlands Trail Riding experiences?
Of course. There is a variety of riding experiences available consummate with age and riding competency. To participate in either a Horse Riding Tour or Stockman’s Billy Breakfast or Lunch and Ride Tour, you need to be a minimum of 9 years of age and authorised by an adult. For those under 9 years of age, we offer Pony Ride Tours. The Pony Ride Tours are specifically designed to provide one on one support where your child is led by an experienced guide. Our School Holiday Programs are designed for children between the ages of 5 and 16 years of age.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Why is your maximum weight allowance 110kg?
The health and wellbeing of our horses is our number one priority.
Can I bring belongings on a riding tour?
A bum bag is offered to you, allowing you to bring personal belongings that will securely fit inside. We do not accept liability of any items that you bring which may end up damaged. We do not hold any personal items of our participants on premises.
What if it rains?
Our tours still operate in the rain. Should the weather be too severe to safely operate, we will notify you on the day and offer to reschedule or provide a credit to re-book at your discretion.
